Time to get on your walking shoes as SUBWAY® supports Walk to Work Week (9-13th May)
10 May 2011

Walking is a great way to get active, boost wellbeing and enjoy your surroundings. That's why SUBWAY® Stores is supporting Walk to Work Week, a national campaign designed to encourage people to make walking part of their working day.

SUBWAY® Stores is supporting National Walk to Work Week (9th - 13th May) by having Walk Doctors in selected stores across London, Manchester, Birmingham, Newcastle and Bristol to provide advice to both employees and customers. As well as advising on technique, local routes and ways to keep active the Walk Doctors will be giving away Walk to Work Week bags with pedometers and foot care kits to encourage everyone to get walking.

James Stewart, of SUBWAY® Stores said, "National Walk to Work Week is a really important initiative to improve our cities' health. Five minutes with the Walk Doctor in store could result in health benefits for life. Walking to work also means seeing our streets in a new light. It will remind us all of why the outdoors is such a great place to be! Subway is very proud to support such a worthy campaign."

To complement the Walk to Work Week activity, SUBWAY® Stores has a delicious range of Low Fat Subs. The Low Fat range is perfect for those looking for a healthier option with all 8 Low Fat Subs containing less than 350 calories and under 6g of fat.

Readers of the Rosemary Conley Diet and Fitness Magazine showed their support for the range, naming SUBWAY® Stores as their favourite fast food outlet, awarding the chain 53% of the vote in a poll published this month.
